Early cropping plants produce masses of small stringless, tender and sweet edible pods, with virtually no waste. With a compact, dwarf habit they are ideal for exposed or windy locations. Shows good tolerance to disease, especially fusarium oxysporum. For outdoor sowing
When March to June.
Where In a prepared seed bed, in flat drills 15cm wide and 5cm deep. Protect early sowings with cloches.
How Sow in a zig-zag pattern along the drill allowing 5cm between seeds. Space drills 60cm apart. Cover with 5cm of fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist. Seedlings appear 10-18 days.
Care Protect younger plants from birds with twigs or netting. Provide support with pea sticks or netting for easier picking, especially in windy locations. Keep moist and weed free at all times.
Harvest May to August. Pick regularly for the best yields. Make 2 or 3 sowings for a longer harvest.
