Where In trays of seed compost.
How Sow thinly, cover with a fine layer of compost. Firm gently and keep moist. Cover with glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at approx. 15-20°C. Seedlings appear 14-28 days.
Care Remove cover when seedlings appear. Grow on at approx. 10-15°C. When large enough transplant 5cm apart in trays. Gradually acclimatise plants to outside conditions from late May onwards (avoid frosts). Transplant 15cm apart in flowering position. Keep moist and weed free.
Flowers June to September.
For outdoor sowing
When May to June.
Where In a prepared seed bed in flowering position.
How Sow thinly in rows 15cm apart. Cover lightly with fine soil.
Care When large enough thin to 15cm apart. Keep moist and weed free.
Flowers June to September. Remove dead heads to prolong flowering. An excellent plant for dry sunny spots.
