Large tightly packed dense heads of crisp, succulent leaves. This reliable, easy to grow variety is slow to bolt in hot summer weather. For outdoor sowing
When March to July.
Where In a prepared seed bed.
How Sow thinly in rows 30cm apart. Cover lightly with 1.5cm of fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist. Seedlings appear 7-14 days. For continuous crops sow every 2-3 weeks.
Care When large enough thin to 20cm apart. Keep moist and weed free. Protect early sowings with cloches.
Harvest June to October. For maximum ‘freshness’ cut lettuces in the morning or evening.
