Easy to grow 'strawflowers' in pure, ice white for stylish displays, in the garden, cut fresh or dried. As lovely in bud as they are in bloom For indoor sowing
When February to April.
Where In trays of moist compost.
How Sow thinly, cover with 0.5cm of compost.
Firm gently and keep moist. Cover tray with glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at approx. 15-20°C. Seedlings appear 14-28 days.
Care Remove cover when seedlings appear. When large enough transplant 5cm apart in trays. Gradually acclimatise plants to outside conditions from late May onwards (avoid frosts). Transplant 20cm apart in flowering position and keep moist.
Flowers June to September. To dry, cut before fully open and hang upside down in airy room.
